Reproducibility, transparency, positionality? Perspectives from different research fields

18 April 2024
Organiser: UKRN
Location: Online
The word ‘reproducibility’ in UKRN’s name can prompt discussion and even concern that our vision, of a research system that promotes rigour and transparency, excludes some kinds of research. Certainly, many of UKRN’s origins lie in the so-called ‘reproducibility crisis’ in, for example, psychology. However, it seems clear that characteristics of research such as transparency in method and findings, and acknowledging and handling factors that might confound those findings, are common concerns related to rigour in many – if not all – research fields. In this webinar, speakers from arts practice, astronomy, psychology, and qualitative social sciences outline their perspectives on these questions, with the aim of highlighting both diversity and perhaps surprising commonalities.

Hear from the 2024 Credibility Prize winners

24 April 2024
Organiser: BNA
Location: Online (BNA Members Meeting)
At this year's BNA Members Meeting, you have the chance to hear from each of this year's Credibility Prize winners, who will be talking about their research and how they have made their work as credible as possible.

The BNA Members Meeting is a two-day meeting by members for members; an opportunity to get together to discuss your research and - especially - your plans for future work. Registration is free for BNA members.

If you have an event coming up relevant to the issues covered in our campaign that you would like us to promote on this page, please get in touch via the contact us form.

If you need help to cover the costs of attending, why not apply for one of our credibility bursaries?

For other events related to open science and reproducibility, we also recommend checking the Open Research Calendar. For research methods, take a look at the courses and training offered by the National Centre for Research Methods and UKRN.
